China exported 8.52 million mt of finished steel in September this year, up 9.79 percent month on month, while it exported 65.34 million mt of finished steel in the January-September period of the year, rising by 39.3 percent year on year, according to data issued by the Chinese customs authorities on October 13.
In September, China imported 1.36 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 16.24 percent month on month, while its finished steel imports in the January-September period amounted to 11.01 million mt, up 5.0 percent year on year.
China imported 84.69 million mt of iron ore in September, declining by 13.1 percent month on month, and while it imported 699.07 million mt of iron ore in the first nine months of the year, up 16.5 percent on year-on-year basis. In September this year, China exported 690,000 mt of metallurgical coke, down 4.55 percent month on month, while it exported 5.78 million mt of coke in the first nine months of the year, increasing by 112.5 percent year on year.
