The France's Manufacturing Production in January This Year Decreased 1.4 Percent

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in January this year decreased 1.4 percent compared to December last year, after a month-on-month increase of 1.3 percent recorded in December.

In January, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 1.9 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 13.5 percent, while the output of the construction industry fell four percent, all compared to the previous month.

In the November 2012-January 2013 quarter, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 4.8 percent, while production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 9.1 percent, both compared to the previous three months. In quarter in question, the output of the construction industry in France fell two percent quarter on quarter.
