Sun Branding Solutions sales and marketing director Ian Schofield has today rejoined Iceland after a 20-year absence to head up its own-label packaging and development team
In the role of own label controller, Schofield (pictured) will head up the entire own-label launch process including Iceland’s Innovation Kitchen and the retailer’s packaging technology team.
Schofield set up Iceland’s own label team in 1984 and stayed with the supermarket until 1993, when he left to work for pre-press house Wace and then printer EBR.
Schofield said: “I have Iceland in my blood from the early days and I am really looking forward to driving growth and innovation in all our markets.”
He will report to Iceland buying director Nigel Broadhurst. He said: “Ian’s enthusiasm will be infectious in our buying team and he brings a wealth of experience t make a difference. I am really happy to have him on board.”
In 10 years at Sun Branding Solutions, Schofield has worked with many major retailers and brand owners on packaging development and design, and has played an instrumental role in developing the Bradford-based group’s positioning as a brand lifecycle management agency.
He is also a member of the Packaging Society and the Marketing Society.
