In the first eight months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, totaled $1.26 billion, including exports of $158.06 million, up 30.6 percent, and imports of $1.10 billion, up 32.91 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first eight months, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked second among Georgia's exports to Turkey, amounting to 49,543 metric tons, up 38.85 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $23.92 million, up 42.85 percent year on year. Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had amounted to 35,681 metric tons in the same period of 2013.
