Nucor, one of the major steel manufacturers in the US said that d its sales profits in the second quarter might be lower than the market analysts' forecast due to decreased steel melting sales in the given period of time. The company said its sales in steel heavy plates improved but weak sales in thin gauge steel sheets and construction steel products still caused its total sales profit fall in the second quarter. Also, Nucor said that the steel demand from non-residential construction market has still remained slow although the whole market has improved from the record low point.
