In the month of December last year, Spanish crude steel output amounted to 780,000 mt, decreasing 25.7 percent month on month and down five percent compared to December 2011, according to the Spanish steelmakers' association Unesid. The association noted that the year-on-year decline in December was the smallest recorded during the year, in which some months registered declines of 20 percent.
Meanwhile, crude steel output in Spain in 2012 totaled 13.6 million mt, decreasing by 13 percent compared to 2011. In the previous year, the decline was 4.7 percent year on year.
