South Korean CR Steelmakers Planned to Raise The Prices for Coated Steel Sheets From Feb

It’s reported that the South Korean cold rolled (CR) steelmakers planned to raise the prices for coated steel sheets for construction by KRW100, 000/ton from February in order to reflect higher input costs.

It’s known that the Korean CR steelmakers have faced profit loss as the prices of the base material for cold rolled steel production have increased continuously. Thus, they planned to raise the order in order to avoid loss.

Union Steel planned to increase the prices by KRW60, 000/ton in February and then raise the prices by KRW40, 000/ton in March.

Besides, Hyundai Steel and Dongbu Steel planned to hike the prices by KRW50, 000/ton and then increase the prices by KRW50, 000/ton in March.
