Turkish Statistical Imports Rose 1.9% Compared to The Previous Month and Were up 6.8%

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in September this year Turkey's ferroalloy imports rose 1.9% compared to the previous month and were up 6.8% compared to September 2011 totaling 37,416 tonnes. The value of these imports amounted to USD 49.4 million decreasing by 4.1% as compared to August and down 9.1% YoY.

In the first 9 months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 317,163 tonnes decreasing 5.2% compared to January to September 2011.

Imports from Ukraine in the first 9 months of this year amounted to 122,334 tonnes up 15.9% compared to the same period of 2011 while imports from India in the period in question amounted to 50,933 tonnes up 1% compared to the same period of 2011. Meanwhile, Russia exported 44,026 tonnes of ferroalloys to Turkey in January to September up 26.9% YoY.
