IIMA President Announced The Appointment of Stuart Horner as Secretary General

International Iron Metallics Association (IIMA) President Alberto Hassan, acting on behalf of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, today announced the appointment of Stuart Horner as Secretary General, effective January 1, 2013.

Horner, a metallurgical engineer with more than 25 years of international experience in the metals industry, is currently Managing Director of F.W. Hempel Metals (UK), Ltd. and previously served in various management positions with Elkem companies.

Commenting on the appointment, Hassan said, “Stuart’s technical background will add an extra dimension to the industry knowledge and experience he brings to the Secretary General position.”

Horner succeeds Frank Griscom, who served as IIMA Secretary from its inception in January 2011. Griscom, who will retire on December 31, 2012, was Executive Director of the HBI Association from 2007-2010 and was closely involved in activities leading to the creation of IIMA.

International Iron Metallics Association (IIMA) is the trade association that serves the global merchant ore-based metallics industry. IIMA was created in January 2011 by the merger of HBI Association, Ltd. (HBIA) and International Pig Iron Association (IPIA). IIMA is a UK-registered not-for-profit company and currently has 99 member companies in 35 countries.
