Korea's Exports of Hot Rolled Coils Decrease by 17% Year on Year

According to data released by the Korea Iron and Steel Association (Kosa), Korea’s exports of hot rolled coils (HRC) totaled 2.21 million tons in the first half of this year, decreasing by 17% year on year, affected by sluggish demand.

In the first half of this year, Japan was the largest importer of Korean HRC with 397,000 tons, decreasing by 14%; Vietnam was the second largest one with 395,000 tons, falling by 14%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago.

Meanwhile, Korea’s HRC imports totaled 2.43 million tons in the first half of this year, declining by 10% year on year.
