Japan's Stainless Steel Exports Fall in January

According to statistics release by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan exported 76,361 tons of stainless steel products in January, falling by 14.4% from 89,259 tons in a month ago.

Among them, 11,745 tons were exported to China, increasing by 25.9% month on month; 16,617 tons were to Korea, falling by 20.8% and 10,920 tons were to Taiwan, rising by 46.3%, all compared to those in a month ago.

In January, the country’s export revenues generated by stainless steel products amounted to US$277.9 million. The average prices were at US$3,639/ton, falling by 14.8% month on month.
