According to the statistics from Statistics Colombia, its volume of goods trade was USD35.87 billion from January to June in 2016, down 22.9% year-on-year (the same below). Exports fell by 25.7% to USD14.32 billion, and imports fell by 20.9% to USD21.55 billion. The trade deficit fell by 9.3% to USD7.22 billion.
In June, Colombia’s volume of goods trade fell by 13.9% to USD6.40 billion. Exports fell by 15.4% to USD2.72 billion and imports fell by 12.7% to USD3.69 billion. And the trade deficit fell by 3.9% to USD0.97 billion.
Since January to June, bilateral trade volume between Colombia and China grew by 26.1% to USD4.58 billion. Colombia’s exports to China fell by 54.0% to USD0.62 billion. It accounted for 4.3% of Colombia’s overall export, down 4.7%. And Colombia’s imports from China fell by 18.4% to USD3.96 billion. It accounted for 18.4% of Colombia’s overall imports, up 0.6% over the previous year. Colombia’s trade deficit with China fell by 4.7% to USD3.34 billion.
China was the second largest export market of Colombia and its 4th largest source of imports up to June in 2016.
