According to data of Taiwan's customs, Taiwan's wire rod exports totaled 19,041 tons in May, rising by 34.6% from 14,143 tons in April. Among them, 5,257 tons were exports to China, 3,682 tons were to Thailand and 3,522 tons were to Korea. Meanwhile, the country's wire rod imports totaled 25,180 tons in May, decreasing by 38% from 40,612 tons in April. Thailand was the largest wire rod exporter to Taiwan with 7,557 tons. In May, the export prices of wire rods averaged at NT$22,548/ton, falling by NT$258/ton; the import prices averaged at NT$20,314/ton, rising by NT$734/ton.
