Turkey imported 1.2 million tons of steel products in January, increasing by 19.1% year on year, according to data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (DUCD). Meanwhile, the country's import revenues generated by steel products totaled US$985 million, rising by 6.9% year on year. The average import prices were at US$850/ton, lower than US$947/ton in the same period of a year ago. Besides, in January, Turkey's imports of steel flat products totaled 580,483 tons, rising by 3.2%; those of steel longs were at 122,000 tons, increasing by 24.1%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago.
