A reciprocating engine is a heat engine that uses one or more reciprocating pistons to convert pressure into a rotating motion. The internal combustion type was used extensively in motor vehicles; the steam engine.
The rotary engine's main application was in aviation, although it also saw use before its primary aviation role, in a few early motorcycles and automobiles.
In 2015, China's engines export volume was 682,300 units, up 8.48% and the value was USD 1463 billion. The export volume was 53500 units and value was USD 9238 million.
