A Sharp Month-on-Month Fall of 24.2% in The Number of Building Starts Result in a Decline

In the USA, a sharp month-on-month fall of 24.2% in the number of building starts for multiple-dwelling units in May 2012 resulted in a decline of 4.8% in the overall number of building starts. According to the US Census Bureau building starts in the twelve-month period up to and including May 2012 declined by 4.8% to a total of 708,000 in comparison to the number in the twelve-month period up to and including April 2012. Building starts for detached houses were up by 3.2% to 516,000.
