The Volumes of Thermally-Modified Timber Rose Again Sharply in 2011

The volumes of thermally-modified timber sold by the members of the International ThermoWood Association (ITWA) rose again sharply in 2011 by 19.2% to a total of 109,757 m³. As growth of 24% had already been registered the year before, the trend of the last few years continues. A reduction of 6.4% against the year before was only registered in 2009 as a result of the effects of the global economic crisis. As such, the volume of thermally-modified timber sold by ITWA members has risen more than five-fold since 2001.
