According to data released by the American Iron and Steel (AISI), the US steel mills' shipments totaled 8.29 million short tons in October, rising by 5.2% from a month ago and increasing by 11.5% year on year and rising by 5.2% from a month ago. In October, the shipments of hot-dipped galvanized steel sheets and strips totaled 1.31 million short tons, rising by 8%; those of cold rolled coils were at 1.01 million short tons, up by 7%; those of hot rolled coils were at 1.79 million short tons, increasing by 1%, all compared to the figures in the previous month. In the January-October period, the US steel mills' shipments fell by 1.1% year on year.
