Finnish Plywood Production Declined Again to 250,000 M3

Finnish plywood production in the third quarter of 2013 declined again to 250,000 m3. This is considerably less than the production volumes achieved in the preceding two quarters. Production in the first quarter had been 270,000 m3 and in the second quarter 280,000 m3, according to the statistics issued by the Finnish Forest Industries Federation. Compared to second-quarter production, the volume produced in the third quarter of 2013 was therefore down by 10%. In contrast, production volume in the third quarter of 2012 was exceeded by 4%. Cumulative production by the Finnish plywood industry for the first three quarters of 2013 totalled 800,000 m3, representing year-on-year growth of almost 5%.
