Ukraine-Based DMKD to Increase Production

Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), plans to increase its production in the current month.

In particular, in July DMKD plans to produce 235,000 mt of crude steel, 268,000 mt of pig iron and 480,000 mt of agglomerate, requiring purchases of 35,000 mt of steel scrap.

In June this year, DMKD produced 222,000 mt of finished steel products, 227,000 mt of crude steel and 211,000 mt of pig iron.

In the January-June period this year, DMKD saw a 23.3 percent year-on-year decline in its finished steel product output to 1.252 million mt, a 22.1 percent decrease in its pig iron production to 1.122 million mt, while its crude steel production went down by 22.5 percent year on year to 1.234 million mt.
