Posco Assan TST Announces That It Has Made The First Shipment in July 14th

Turkey-based Posco Assan TST, a stainless producing joint venture built by Korean steel giant Posco and Turkey's Assan Celik announced that it has made the first shipment of 1.5 mm stainless coils in July 14th. It's known that Posco Assan TST owns annual capacity of 200,000 tons in the first phase and it target to reach an annual output of 400,000 tons in the coming period. Besides, the company expected to achieve an annual turnover of US$500 million to replace imports of US$100 million each year and to reach annual currency inflow of US$200 million into Turkey. Posco Assan TST stated that around 350,000 tons of Turkey's stainless steel consumption per year was supplied by imports. Meanwhile, the company has targeted to sell products to Turkish automotive, white goods, construction, health and agriculture sectors.
