Bosch Set to Launch Drill and Hammer Drill Drivers Mount Prospect, IL (April 10, 2014) – Bosch Power Tools next month will introduce the DDH181X 18V heavy duty drill driver and the HDH181X 18V hammer drill driver, both designed for greater control, maximum power and durability.
The new tools feature Active Response Technology, which allows users to tackle high-torque applications while reducing the risk of kickback, according to the company. An integrated acceleration sensor limits rotation by detecting sudden movements and cuts off motor current, thus stopping the tool.
Both products, measuring less than 9 in. in length, are compatible with all Bosch 18V lithium-ion batteries and weigh 5 lb or less. A new auxiliary handle, included with each, features 23 positions and a tongue-and-groove locking structure to maximize control.
Durability and Power
The DDH181X and HDH181X are built with Durashield housing and all metal gearbox for durability on the jobsite, capable of surviving multiple drops onto solid concrete. They also come with electronic motor and cell protection to help prevent overheating and overloading, according to Bosch.
An optimized 4-pole motor delivers power through 700 in.-lb of hard-torque in the DDH181X and 750 lb of hard-torque in the HDH181X to handle tough drilling and driving applications, such as using holesaws and spade bits.
Suggested retail price is $279 for the DDH181X drill driver and $299 for the HDH181X hammer drill driver. Both 18V drivers will be offered in a kit with two 4.0 Ah FatPack batteries and charger, and will be available in May 2014 at authorized dealers nationwide.
