The Taiwanese stainless producers may cut stainless steel list prices for October due to decreased demand and weak nickel prices. It's learned that the LME nickel prices jumped to the level of US$14,000/ton in August, supporting Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng, the two major stainless steel producers in Taiwan announced to raise the list prices by around 5% for September. However, since nickel prices have started falling in September, it's predicted that the Taiwanese stainless producers might cut list prices by NT$1,000~NT$1,500/ton for October. Meanwhile, the LME nickel prices averaged at US$13,780/ton in September 1-24 period, falling by US$555/ton in comparison of the average prices in August.
