Japanese steel export was around 3.3 million tons in October, decreasing by 6% from previous month and by 1.6% from the same period of last year, according to Japanese Ministry of Finance. In addition, the total export figures were about 310 billion yen, down by 13.4% from last year. For the area, Japanese exported the steel to Asia around 2.6 million tons, down by 2.5% from last year, only increasing by 11% in China to about 530,000 tons from a year ago. Meanwhile, it exported to Middle East and Russia nearly 120,000 tons and 7,000 tons, sharply declining by 21.5% and 60.8% from last year. On the other hand, Japan imported steel products around 676,000 tons in October, hiking by 11.9% from September but curtailing by 8% compared to the same period of last year.
