According to report of the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), the country's steel exports totaled 3.39 million tons, rising by 2.5% from a month ago but falling by 4.3% year on year. The official of JISF said that the strong domestic demand has forced the Japanese steelmakers to reduce exports. In addition, the slowdown in economy in some Southeast Asian countries also caused the Japanese steel exports drop. In November, Japan's exports of hot rolled coils totaled 824,156 tons, falling by 5% from October and slumping by 14% year on year.
