According to statistics, China imported 8.951 million tons of steel flat products in the first nine months of this year, falling by 11.7% year on year.
Among them, 4.01 million tons were from Japan, decreasing by 18.2%; 1.19 million tons were from Taiwan, falling by 14% and 2.8 million tons were from South Korea, up by 0.3%, all compared to the figures in the same period of the previous year.
In September alone, Japan was the largest importer of the Chinese steel flat products with 480,000 tons, falling by 11.8%; South Korea was the second largest one with 340,000 tons, down by 3.3% and Taiwan was the third largest one with 120,000 tons, declining by 23.4%, all compared to that in September, 2011.
