According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported 444,500 tons of steel flat products in November, falling by 13.5% year on year.
In the first 11 months of 2012, the country’s imports of steel flat products amounted to 4.7 million tons, rising by 10.5% year on year.
In the given period of time, the imports of hot rolled flat products were at 3.14 million tons, down by 1.5%; those of cold rolled flat products were at 602,200 tons, up by 3% and those of coasted flats were at 623,500 tons, falling by 13%, all compared to those in the same period of a year ago.
