Brazil's Steel Exports Totaled 28.86 Million Tons in The January-October Period

According to data released by the Brazil Steel Institute (IABr), the country's crude steel production totaled 28.86 million tons in the January-October period, down by 1.1% year on year. In the given period of time, the country's output of rolled steel products totaled 22.09 million tons, rising by 2.1% year on year. Among them, 12.54 million ton were steel flat products, up by 1.4%; 9.56 million tons were steel long products, increasing by 3%, both compared to the figures in the same period of 2012. In October alone, Brazil's crude steel output totaled 3.02 million tons, rising by 1.51% from a month ago but falling by 2.8% year on year. At the same time, the country's output of rolled steel products totaled 2.34 million tons, increasing by 7.6% month on month and rising by 4.3% year on year. Among them, 1.35 million tons were steel flat products, rising by 3.2% and 897,500 tons were steel long products increasing by 5.8%, both compared to the figures in the same month of 2012.
