The Average Steel Price in China Decreased by 0.2 Percent

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (March 25-31) the average steel price in China decreased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous week.

In particular, in the given week prices of 12 mm diameter rebar, 80 mm x 43 mm x 5 mm channel steel and 10 mm thickness steel plate decreased by 0.4 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.2 percent, all week on week.

In the week ending March 31, average prices of minerals in China remained unchanged compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the average prices of lead ore and tungsten ore both declined by 0.8 percent, the average prices of iron ore and antimony ore remained unchanged, while the prices of zinc ore and copper ore increased by one percent and 0.7 percent, all compared to the previous week.

Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down one percent week on week. The average prices of crude oil and coke decreased by 2.4 percent and 1.6 percent respectively, while the price of raw coal remained unchanged, all on week-on-week basis.
