Mexico's Crude Steel Output Totaled 1.34 Million Tons in June,Hitting The Lowest Level

According to statistics released by the Mexican steel chamber (Canacero), the country's crude steel output totaled 1.34 million tons in June, hitting the lowest level over the past 30 months and falling by 5% from 1.41 million tons in June, 2012. In June, the country's production of finished and semi-finished steel products decreased by 8% and 3.9% year on year respectively. In the first half of this year, Mexico's crude steel production amounted to 10.68 million tons, falling by 10.8% year on year and decreasing by 8.2% from the second half of 2012. Meanwhile, Mexico's steel imports totaled 630,000 tons in June, falling by 17.1% year on year and decreasing by 12.5% from May.
