Nucor Expected That Its Third-Quarter Earnings Would Rise From The Level in a Year Ago

Reportedly, Nucor expected that its third-quarter earnings would rise from the level in a year ago, driven by improved demand and supply disruption of its competitors. The company expected that its earnings would be a 35~40 cents a share, in comparison of 35 cents per share in the third quarter of 2012. Nevertheless, Nucor expected its raw material segment to post weaker result in the third quarter, compared to the second quarter, caused by higher costs at its new DRI plant in Louisiana.
