Japan's Steel Exports Totaled 3.64 Million Tons in July,Down by 1.5% Year on Year

According to data released by the Ministry of Finance, Japan's steel exports totaled 3.64 million tons in July, down by 1.5% year on year and month on month. In July, the country's steel imports totaled 663,150 tons, falling by 3.1% from a month ago and rising by 14.3% year on year. In the first seven months of this year, the country's steel exports amounted to 26 million tons, increasing by 6.3%; its steel imports totaled 4.2 million tons, falling by 8.8%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago. In the given period of time, Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese steel with 4.69 million tons, down by 6.1%; China was the second largest one with 3.51 million tons, falling by 3.5% and Taiwan was the third largest one with 2.4 million tons, increasing by 21.1%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
