Canon's New Wireless DSLR Is Seriously Budget-Friendly

Want a DSLR, but don’t want to remortgage you house? Canon might have the camera for you.

Canon has unveiled a new entry-level DSLR camera that doesn’t cost the earth.

The EOS 1300D is described as “an ideal introduction” to DSLR photography, and starts at just £290 without a lens.

There are also two body plus lens options available, without a significant price hike:

EOS 1300D + EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DCIII kit – £329.99

EOS 1300D + EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II kit – £369.99

The new camera is basically identical to the old 1200D, except for new wireless features.

The EOS 1300D offers Wi-Fi connectivity, which lets you store and share photos on the go.

There’s also NFC compatibility that allows for sharing with a compatible Android device with just a tap.

In terms of camera hardware, you’re getting Canon’s custom-built DIGIC 4+ processor, plus a respectable 18megapixel sensor.

You’ve also got up to 80 EF lenses to choose from, so this isn’t a bad pick for budding photographers.

The EOS 1300D has an ISO range of 100 to 6,400, which should cope with shooting in dim conditions, and there’s a video mode too.

Canon says the new camera will be available from early April in the UK.
