In February of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 703,831 metric tons, increasing by 6.57 percent year on year and up 12.76 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $407.73 million, increasing by 3.72 percent compared to February 2013 and up 12.68 percent from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the first two months of this year, Turkey's rebar exports stood at 1.32 million metric tons, up 9.71 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $762.16 million, increasing by 6.80 percent year on year.
In February this year, the largest rebar export destination for Turkey was the US with exports amounting to 105,137 metric tons, up 84.96 percent year on year. The US was followed by Iraq with 94,476 metric tons and the UAE with 65,615 metric tons. Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year, Iraq ranked first among Turkey's rebar export destinations, receiving 195,780 metric tons, down 13.18 percent year on year. Iraq was followed by the US which received 151,524 metric tons of rebar from Turkey, up 115.34 percent year on year.
