It is reported that ArcelorMittal's new wire rod mill in Ruhrort, Germany has been delayed to the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, the company has also indicated to invest approximately €130 million for the new plant and it expected to start the production in 2012. Currently, the new plant is under testing now and it expects to be completed in the third quarter. In the meantime, the new plant will produce high-strength wire rods for the renewable energy and automotive industries. The company will focus on the initial production capacity of 450,000 tons per year and reach full production capacity of 650,000 tons per year respectively.
