Chinese car maker Wuling is planning to produce new city EV electric car called City Car which is expected to be similar to BMW i3.
Reports suggest that the company might take more than just designing elements from the German company, as the i3 is also called City Car.
Wuling, which is a unit of SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, might unveil the concept car at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show and the car might hit the Chinese market in 2015.
The leaked images revealed a small compact car, but the details about its engine or features have not come out yet.
BMW i3 is powered by 25 kW 647 cc, two-cylinder generator and the car is capable of going 80-100 miles and users have an option to add petrol-powered generator to improve the driving experience, but the Wuling car is expected to be much slower than the i3.
