Martin Brandt, board member and COO of Zumtobel Group, has terminated his management board contract, which was scheduled to run until 30 April 2015, with effect from 31 July 2014.
The resignation follows a period of upheaval for the Group which is planning significant changes to its business structure over the next three years.
The last year has also seen significant boardroom changes at the firm. In September 2013, group chief executive Harald Sommerer and chief financial officer Mathias D hn resigned following a disagreement over strategy.
Brandt had been appointed member of the board on 1 September 2009 and was initially responsible for operational management of the lighting segment. Over the years, he focused his activities on management of the Thorn brand and on business in Asia. Most recently, he was in charge of Group Technology, Operations Lighting Brands and Corporate IT. These responsibilities will now be taken over by Ulrich Schumacher, CEO, and Karin Sonnenmoser, CFO, in addition to their existing duties.
Jürg Zumtobel, chairman of the supervisory board of Zumtobel AG, said: “On behalf of the supervisory board, I thank Mr Brandt for his commitment and his contributions to the success of our organisation. We wish him all the best and lots of success in the future.”
