China's Baotou Iron & Steel Has Planned to Upgrade Its Operations

Reportedly, China’s Baotou Iron & Steel (Baotou), the largest steelmaker in northern China’s Inner Mongolia has planned to upgrade its operations with a new heat-treatment unit at its Mongolia plant.

Meanwhile, the company will commission Austria's Siemens to conduct the whole improvement technologies.

In addition, the new plant expects to begin trial run in early 2014 with designed annual production capacity to 400,000 tons.

Besides, the new production line will be able to process 150 tons per hour of rails with a maximum length of 104 meters particular for special steel rails in a variety of sizes, including asymmetric rails according to source reported.
