Quality Systems' subsidiary NextGen Healthcare has announced that the company's inpatient clinicals version 2.6 is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as an electronic health record (EHR) Module by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT).
The ONC 2014 Edition criteria support both Stage 1 and 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Quality Systems executive vice president and chief operating officer Daniel Morefield said, "Meaningful Use is a critical aspect of healthcare reform and our Modular certification and eventual full 2014 ONC EHR Certification underscores our commitment to providing clients with the best possible solutions to ensure their success."
CCHIT executive director Alisa Ray said that companies who receive EHR technology certification will be able to make their products available to providers to adopt health IT to demonstrate Meaningful Use.
NextGen Inpatient Clinicals version 2.6 ONC HIT certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
