The updated Renault Koleos Phase 3 range is now on sale in Australia, introducing a lower starting price and new features to the French brand’s mid-sized SUV.
The 2014 Koleos Phase 3 gains the new Renault corporate face that debuted on the recently launched Clio, and is further distinguished from the Phase 2 by a new Metallic Brown paint colour, new alloy wheel patterns, enhanced audio system interfaces and added safety technology.
The 2.0-litre diesel engine has also been uprated and now produces 127kW of power and 360Nm of torque – up 17kW and 40Nm from before.
The entry-level front-wheel-drive Renault Koleos Expression 2.5-litre petrol is now $1000 cheaper than before, starting at $27,490 (or $27,990 driveaway for a limited time) with the six-speed manual and $29,490 with the optional continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Expression models gain fresh seat trims, revised audio interface, vehicle alarm, deadlocking, and a lockable glovebox.
The mid-spec Koleos Bose variants add front parking sensors, integrated satellite navigation, electro-chromatic rear-view mirror, illuminated sun visor vanity mirrors, push-button start, and a blind spot warning system. A rear-view camera is also now available as an option.
The Phase 3 Bose 4×2 and 4×4 petrol models are $500 dearer than before at $35,490 and $38,990 respectively, while the diesel comes down $500 to $40,490.
The flagship Koleos Privilege builds on the enhancements applied to the Expression and Bose variants and adds a reversing camera, electrically adjustable passenger seat, and new brown/beige leather and trim interior options.
The petrol model is $250 cheaper than before at $44,740 while the diesel is $750 more expensive at $46,240.
