Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending August 9, Canada's rig count increased by 17 to 358, also marking a 59-rig increase from the same week last year.? Meanwhile, the US rig count decreased by four to 1,778, dropping after four consecutive weeks of increases. Year-on-year, the US rig count was down 153.
By sector, the US oil rig count fell by three this past week to reach 1885, while gas rigs dropped by two to 386.
