US-based SanTan Brewing is all set to launch its seasonal beer series in new cans manufactured by global beverage can maker Rexam. Initially, SanTan's seasonal brew Rail Slide Imperial Spiced Ale will be launched in a new 12oz can.
The cans, which preserve the taste and quality, are said to serve as an environmental and sustainability choice and have a recycle rate at more than double.
Rexam Beverage Can North America president and CEO Rich Grimley said the company has partnered with SanTan Brewing to help them bring their new beers to market in the new package.
"Our aluminum can is a great packaging solution for the growing craft beer market, enabling brands to stand out on retail shelves while delivering superior recycling benefits, as well as distribution and retail display economics," Grimley said.
The brewer currently offers its four core brews including Devil's Ale, HefeWeizen Wheat, Epicenter Amber Ale and Hop Shock I.P.A. in Rexam cans. Rail Slide has a bold 8.1% alcohol by volume (ABV).
Rexam, which has more than 80 plants in 25 countries, reported sales of around £4.7bn from ongoing operations in 2011.
