Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will supply original equipment tires to Daimler AG for the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class compact SUV.
The German vehicles will come factory equipped with Yokohama C.drive2 tires for overseas markets. Two versions of the tire will be supplied, each in size 235/50R18 97V: standard and runflat.
The tires also will bear Daimler's official stamps of approval, with “MO” for the standard version and “MOE” for the runflat version.
Both tires offer "superior wet-grip performance and fulfill the safe-performance requirements of the European market through improved handling and stability in both dry and wet conditions," according to the tire company. "They also are highly fuel efficient tires."
Yokohama tires are OE on numerous other Mercedes-Benz models, including the S-Class, G-Class, E-Class Coupe, C-Class, B-Class and A-Class.
