LabelValue.com has announced the release of its GMO-Free Labels.
This follows Whole Foods announcement in March which stated that all products in US and Canada stores must be labeled if they contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
It was the first national grocery store to set a deadline for mandatory GMO labeling.
These gloss labels, which have been laminated for improved durability and water resistance, are said to be suited for use on food or refrigerated products.
LabelValue.com co-owner Mark Callison said the company recognized that companies wanted to implement the GMO label but were postponing it because it would entail redesigning and reprinting their labels or product packaging.
"We recognized that a GMO label that could be added to the current label was an easy solution to the problem that would allow them to immediately meet the demand for GMO labeling," said Callison.
