Hankook introduced the iFlex comcept tire in Germany.
Hankook Tire Co. unveiled its iFlex concept tire at the 65th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany.
The iFlex futuristic, eco-friendly tire concept is a non-pneumatic tire designed to increase the overall efficiency of vehicles.
The tire is made from highly elasticated polyurethane synthetics and is up to 95% recyclable.
The iFlex is manufactured in conjunction with its rim and consumes less energy while rolling, lowering fuel consumption while increasing vehicle safety, Hankook says.
The structure of the Hankook iFlex uses organically connected spokes which distribute the pressure so that the bottom of the tire is compressed while the top stretches, ensuring a comfortable and smooth ride.
Hankook adds that consumers will be able to express their personality and style, as there is a wide selection of colors that can be applied to the center frame, outer layer and inner structure.
The iFlex joins the company's eMembrane tire concept earlier announced.
