According to report of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US’s steel import permit applications for June totaled 2.565 million net tons, falling by 10% from a month ago and decreasing by 8% from the preliminary imports of 2.802 million net tons in May.
In June, the US’s import permit tonnage for finished steel totaled 2.014 million net tons, decreasing by 5% form the preliminary imports of 2.123 million net tons in May.
In the first half of this year, the country’s imports of total steel products and finished steel products amounted to 15.801 million net tons and 12.372 million net tons, decreasing by 10% and 9% respectively year on year.
