The Porsche Rennsport Australia Motor Racing Festival 2013 took place at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend, providing punters the opportunity to check out some of the hardware the German manufacturer has put out over its many years.
With Porsche celebrating the 911 model’s 50th anniversary this year, the Porsche Rennsport Motor Racing Festival was always going to be a big event, and with rounds of the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, Historic Porsche races and other on-track demonstrations, as well as a Concours d’Elegance, a Show ‘n’ Shine, and a special display of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, it didn’t disappoint.
Porsche Sport Driving School was on hand too with its 911 Carrera and Cayman, giving licensed drivers the chance to negotiate a motorkhana course set up on Sydney Motorsport Park’s wet skid pan, as well as tackle the complex’s four-wheel drive track in a Porsche Cayenne SUV.
From modern weapons like the Porsche 911 GT2 and 911 GT3 RS models, to classics like the Porsche 936/81 Spyder, Porsche 935 K3 Turbo, and American Le Mans LMP2 DHL Porsche RS Spyder, CarAdvice snapped what we could to bring you a gallery of as many of the day’s highlights as possible.
