EE is continuing to roll out its 4G service in the UK, today switching on coverage in Ashton-under-Lyne, Chatham, Gillingham, High Wycombe, Merthyr Tydfil, Oldham, Oxford, Rochester, Runcorn, Sale, Stafford and Wigan.
EE says this now puts UK coverage of homes and businesses at over 50 per cent, with 74 towns and cities switched on.

Vodafone 4G delayed until September Analysis: has EE really made 'good progress' with 4G? H4cked Off: "Faster 4G for all!" says EE. "Fix my bloody text messaging first," replies World
"The pace of our 4G network rollout continues to keep us at the forefront of the UK mobile market," said EE's CEO, Olaf Swantee.
"Just seven months after launch, we've covered millions of consumers and businesses with one of the fastest mobile networks in the world."
EE's last published figures from April state that 318,000 people have signed on for 4G, which equates to only 2.3 per cent of its postpaid, or contract, customer base.
As the only operator in the UK currently offering 4G, EE's figures remain surprisingly low when compared to Verizon's 28 per cent (of 93.2 million customers) take-up in the US.
EE also recently announced it plans to double its existing 4G speed, starting before the end of 2013.
But as other operators begin to roll out 4G coverage later this year, competition could increase, with the likes of O2 and Vodafone perhaps enjoying stronger brand recognition than EE's combined Orange and T-Mobile service networks.
