China TV vendors' sales to markets outside of China are expected to grow 40% on year in the second quarter of 2014.
In April 2014, LCD TV shipments from China's top-six vendors to markets outside of China reached nearly 2.09 million, up 41.1% on year, and are expected to reach nearly six million units in the second quarter to represent a 40.2% increase on year.
The growth is expected to largely come from markets in North America, Europe and Africa as demand in those areas heats up, as well as to healthy reserves in end markets and new products launched in the beginning of 2014. Additionally, demand for new TVs in preparation for the World Cup has also spurred shipments.
In the China market meanwhile, LCD TV shipments are expected to be flat on year at around 45 million units, with the average size TV shipped expected to increase from 32-inch to 39- to 42-inch units, industry sources believe.
