The Delta AT Plus tire has a wide profile shape to provide good balance and long wear.
Del-Nat Tire Corp. has released the AT Plus premium all-terrain tire with 20 SUV fitments and 16 LT fitments in the National and Delta brand names.
The company says the AT Plus boasts significant upgrades from the previous generation, including a taller bead design for increased controllability, and silica-infused tread compound for improved wet traction and reduced rolling resistance.
The AT Plus was tested in June at the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company's 1,000-acre vehicle and tire-testing facility in Pearsall, Texas. The tire was exposed to a battery of tests, including an off road course with deep mud pits and steep rocky inclines as well as a road course with wet and dry conditions.
Jim Mayfield, President of Del-Nat was present for the testing event.
"The conditions were very extreme, especially on the off road course," says Jim Mayfield, president of Del-Nat.
"We drove several different SUVs fitted with the new AT Plus up a 45-degree wet rock surface without much effort. The way the tire held was very impressive. The new AT Plus tire meets all of our expectations, and then some."
Earlier this year, Del-Nat took a major step forward for the company and its stockholders with the launch of its Sentinel line of passenger and light truck tires. Sentinel is available exclusively from Del-Nat dealers and offers opening price point products available in Touring passenger tires (UN99) and Ultra High Performance (UN33). The Sentinel AT and Sentinel HT complete the lineup.
